Updated daily!
Once upon a time, a
handbag was just a functional extra, almost an unwanted burden,
but the times have changed. These days, a handbag is a serious
fashion statement, and almost a vital accessory for anyone who
may venture beyond the front door of their house...
Whether you're just out for a short walk to the shops, or an
evening of adventure and romance on the town, don't get caught
by the fashion cops without your handbag!
- Do you think that "The Clutch" is ONLY part
of a car, and NOT a fashion accessory?
- and that the "The Shopper" is just the name
for a person who spends their day window-shopping?
- Do you think that "The Duffle" is the latest
dance-step?
- or that "The Cross Body" is something you saw
Bruce Lee do in a DVD lastnight...?
If so, you better do a little digging
here...

In American English, a handbag is called a Purse (a small
bag).
Did you know, that in British English, a
handbag is considerably larger than a Purse, which is a small
money container similar to a wallet (but typically used by
women) and including a compartment for coins.
Purses are usually worn as an accessory by
ladies, but men also sometimes carry one as a smaller
alternative to a backpack;
and that such a Purse is sometimes self-consciously described
as a "murse" or "manbag". It can also be bluntly called a
"man-purse".
Hobo bags are popular among Hollywood celebrities
who favor the bohemian, or boho-chic, style familiarized by
such celebrities as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Sienna
Miller, and Joss Stone.

A Pocketbook is similar to a Purse (in the British
English sense), but allows the carrying of sheets of paper
as well. Purses are also made-up of zari, sterling silver,
leather, cloth etc.
A medium-to-small-sized bag with a short handle,
designed to be carried (clutched) in one's hand is often
called a Clutch. A
larger Purse with two handles, is often referred to as a
Tote.
