A handbag is practically always functional and designed with fashion in mind.
In British English, a handbag is considerably larger than a Purse, which is a small money
container similar to a wallet (but typically used by women) and including a compartment for
coins.
Some different handbag types: Purses are typically worn as an accessory by ladies, though men
sometimes carry one as a smaller alternative to a backpack; such a Purse is sometimes
self-consciously referred to as a "murse" or "manbag". It can also be bluntly called a
"man-purse".
A medium-to-small-sized bag with a short handle, designed to be carried (clutched) in one's hand
is often referred to as a Clutch. A larger Purse with two handles, is often referred to as a
Tote.
A Pocketbook is similar to a Purse (in the British English sense), but has a place for the
carrying of sheets of paper as well. Purses are also made-up of zari, sterling silver, leather,
cloth etc.

A security Purse is very handy to protect styles-a person's belongings from travel theft. The
purse takes advantage of an invisible stainless steal strap built into the cloth and a binding on
the part where the zipper is.
Other types of handbag include :
Hobo: Hobo bags are made out of soft, flexible materials and tend to slump, or slouch, when set
down.
Satchel: A satchel is a bag used by many people to carry books, and other objects in. It has a
one large strap that goes over one shoulder and across the body.
Other types of Handbag include:
The Duffle: A large bag traditionally used for travel or sports, The Shopper, and The Cross
body.
