A handbag is nearly always functional and designed with fashion in mind.
In British English, a handbag is considerably larger than a Purse, which is a small money container similar to a wallet (but typically used by women) and including a compartment for coins.
There are many styles of handbags: Purses are traditionally used exclusively by women, though men sometimes use one instead of a backpack; such a Purse is sometimes self-consciously referred to as a "murse" or "manbag". It can also be bluntly called a "man-purse".
A medium-to-small-sized bag with a short handle, designed to be carried (clutched) in one's hand is often described as a Clutch. A larger Purse with two handles, is often referred to as a Tote.
A Pocketbook is similar to a Purse (in the British English sense), but allows the carrying of sheets of paper as well. Purses are also made-up of zari, sterling silver, leather, cloth etc.
A security Purse is very handy to protect types-a person's belongings from travel theft. The purse makes use of an invisible stainless steal strap inside the fabric and a covering on the part where the zipper is.
Other types of handbag include :
Hobo: The Hobo bag is a style of Handbag or Purse that is typically large and characterized by a crescent shape, a slouchy posture and a long strap designed to wear over the shoulder.
Satchel: Many students use them at universities and colleges. Many people claim it can affect the growth of the wearer, but this hasn't been proven.
Other types of Handbag include:
The Duffle: A large bag generally used for travel or sports, The Shopper, and The Cross body.
