A handbag is often functional and used as a fashion accessory.
In British English, a handbag is considerably larger than a Purse, which is a small money container similar to a wallet (but typically used by women) and including a compartment for coins.
Different types of handbags: Purses are usually carried by women, though men sometimes find one useful to replace a backpack; such a Purse is sometimes self-consciously referred to as a "murse" or "manbag". It can also be bluntly called a "man-purse".
A medium-to-small-sized bag with a short handle, designed to be carried (clutched) in one's hand is often called a Clutch. A larger Purse with two handles, is often referred to as a Tote.
A Pocketbook is similar to a Purse (in the British English sense), but has space for the carrying of sheets of paper as well. Purses are also made-up of zari, sterling silver, leather, cloth etc.
A security Purse is great to protect styles-you from travel theft. The purse employs an invisible stainless steal strap inside the cloth and a binding to cover the zip.
Some different handbag types are :
Hobo: There are many different sizes and shapes of this popular woman's handbag/accessory.
Satchel: Like all bags, Satchels are easily customised with patches and various other creative textiles. No one really knows when the Satchel was invented. Some people believe that it was invented as a small purse or "carry-sack" for women in the Middle Ages.
Other types of Handbag include:
The Duffle: A large bag normally used for travel or sports, The Shopper, and The Cross body.
